We have analysed the Junior Cert Maths results 2013-2017 .The table below show the percentages getting A,ABC,D and fail . We have also plotted a scatter plot and calculated the correlation coefficient of numbers sitting the exam versus % A grade .You would think that as the numbers sitting the exam increases the % A rate would decrease but no! The % A rate actually increases. There are a number of ways of explaining this.(I)Standards have fallen ! (ii)The % rate getting A is being manipulated !
